Business Finance Scholarship
CNF Exchange Business Finance Scholarship
Introduction
The CNF Exchange Business Finance Scholarship recognizes undergraduate students from all educational backgrounds who would like to draw upon business and finance knowledge or research to explain what information is important to analyze and receive from small businesses in order for a commercial bank lender to grant a business loan. For the 2012-13 academic year, two students will be recognized with an award of $500 each.
After the Financial Crisis of 2008, many businesses found it difficult to obtain business loans from commercial banks and other traditional financing sources. Lenders found it difficult to lend during the economic recession due to declining business trends, increased regulatory pressures, and the increased losses as a result of the declining economic condition, among other factors. Businesses needed to be able to deal with these tightened lending standards while simultaneously tending to declining business operations. The importance of understanding what commercial lenders analyze and need in order to provide small business loans is critical to an uninterrupted continuation of business operations.
